It was my first day kayaking on the Koboke course this season so I was very excited. I was glad the rafters made it through the rapids safely so I did not have to rescue anyone. Because of recent rain we had high flow and clear water。Also the trees are changing color so it was a great day playing in the river.
After the typhoon coming through earlier in the week we had a return to high water that was enjoyed by all this afternoon. Although the Yoshinogawa offers world class rafting at all levels throughout the season, high water gives the extra padding required to really let lose and start looking for the “bigger” lines. In this afternoon that lead to the venerable Hidesan with a crew of six looking for adventure to enjoy the benefits of rafting into Iwahara Rapid, and swimming out the bottom. Not to be shown up, Hirosan managed to exit the raft with the majority of his crew a minute later. For those of us keeping things contained there was still no lack of water in and around the boat today.
A huge thanks to those who came out on the river with us today
